This Privacy Policy explains how Noetiq (hereinafter referred to as "we," "us," or "our") processes your personal data in our capacity as a Data Processor on behalf of your Vehicle Manufacturer/Service Provider (hereinafter referred to as the "OEM" or "Data Controller").
By using the websites, mobile applications ("App"), and connected vehicle services powered by our technology (collectively, the "Service"), you acknowledge that we will process your data according to the OEM's instructions and this policy. For the complete regulations regarding how your data is collected and utilized, please prioritize referring to the Privacy Policy you signed with the OEM.
1. Role Definitions
- Data Controller: The vehicle manufacturer or dealership from whom you purchased your vehicle. The OEM determines the purpose, scope, and method of data collection.
- Data Processor: Noetiq. We are commissioned by the OEM to provide the underlying connected vehicle platform technology, cloud computing, and App operations, processing relevant data solely based on the OEM's instructions.
2. Categories of Data We Process
To execute the services commissioned by the OEM, we may process the following categories of data. The specific data points depend on your agreement with the OEM:
- 2.1 Account and Identity Data
- Information used for account creation and identity verification (e.g., name, contact details, account credentials).
- If you log in via third-party platforms such as Google or Line (SSO), we will process the unique identifiers and basic profile information authorized by those platforms.
- 2.2 Vehicle and Telematics Data
- Vehicle Identification Information: Unique codes (such as VIN) and configuration details used to identify specific vehicles.
- Vehicle Status Information: Data reflecting the real-time operational status, hardware health, and related sensor readings of the vehicle.
- Driving Behavior Data: Dynamic data generated during vehicle operation, including mileage, trip statistics, and driving patterns.
- Location Information: Geographical location data of the vehicle and geofence entry/exit records.
- 2.3 Device and Application Data
- Information regarding the mobile device you use (e.g., model, OS version), App operation records, and technical logs.
3. Purpose of Data Processing
We process your data strictly within the scope authorized by the OEM. The primary purposes include:
- Providing connected vehicle functions (e.g., remote vehicle control via App, checking vehicle status).
- Assisting the OEM in providing customer service and technical support (Noetiq Service Agent).
- Maintaining system operations, information security, and cloud infrastructure management.
- Assisting the OEM in big data analytics to optimize product experiences.
4. Data Storage and Third-Party Services
- Cloud Infrastructure: The data for this Service is hosted on third-party cloud platforms, which may include Google Cloud Platform (GCP), Amazon Web Services (AWS), and Microsoft Azure.
- Data Transfer: Due to the nature of cloud infrastructure, your data may be transferred to and stored in different countries. We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your data during such transfers.
5. Data Sharing
Unless instructed by the OEM or required by law, Noetiq will not independently share your data with unrelated third parties. Your data may be provided to:
- Your OEM: As the Data Controller, the OEM has the right to access full data records.
- Sub-processors: Third-party service providers (e.g., cloud service providers, SMS gateway providers) strictly for the purpose of assisting us in providing technical services.
6. Exercising Your Rights
As Noetiq acts as the Data Processor, if you wish to exercise your data rights (such as access, correction, deletion, or withdrawal of consent), please contact your OEM (the Data Controller) directly. Upon receiving instructions from the OEM, we will fully cooperate to assist in executing your request.
